By serving the extreme poor in Myanmar, led to a cutting-edge movement in community-led development and powerful insights and expertise about global poverty.  The Shanta Foundation, an international NGO headquartered in Durango, CO, has a unique approach to community mobilization, leadership development, and community banking that would actually work, facilitating more than 35 villages to find paths out of extreme poverty, even in under the terror of the military dictatorship.
